02-06-2011 03:06 PM #14meiko07GuestTransmutation SkillAlchemy is also the creation of items through transmutation. Combining materials to create something new is the fundamental of alchemy. Be careful as stats do not affect the success rates of the item being created.
Alchemy Mastery
Overview: Alchemy Mastery is such a useful skill in offensive alchemy as well as transmutations. It increases the damage and efficiency of all offensive skills but as well as increasing the success rates of all other transmutation skill. I cannot stress how much useful this skill is. Early in-game, this skill is terribly painful to level up as well as it seems completely unrelated with combat alchemy skills. With the addition of the Destiny system, this skill is much easier to rank up now.

This is a good guide, but do you have any recommendations for what you think would be a good cap for all the skills?

A good guide for overall generalisation of Alchemy skills. But if I were you, I would go abit more into detail about each skill. Say not just about how each skill works individually, but also about in which situation it would be most effective and what skills to raise if we are discussing about a player's activities in the game. So for example, a player likes exploring and dungeon runs, you would recommend, Barrier Spikes, Shock and some other skills of their liking (IF we are discussing skill training outside of CP issues). Also, you can recommend in what situations only certain skills would be useful or useless. When you're ballooning, the only skill that is the most effective would be Water Cannon and Shock. The other skills are near useless due to the fact their range is too short, or they can't be used at all.
On a side note, here are some tips for you and all those who are reading this for PvP from me as long-term player and since you've impressed me with this guide. Sand Burst's effect may be completely useless against players, but it has a variety of utility still. In retrospect, it has been and is still occassionally used to build up the necessary charges to use Heat Buster. Since the skill's utility is the same as AR and Icebolt, you can use this to momentarily stun and position your opponent towards a place you want him/her to be. Combining this skill with Chain Cylinder can also break certain Duel Taboos if they are made before a duel, say the opponent states no multi-charging skills. This would apply if you charged up your skills manually, but if they are charged up by Chain Cylinder, they can't complain about it.
Now my complaint to you about your guide would be each skill's 'speed' categorisation. Normally when I categorise a skill, I would first state their load time then determine it's speed rating. Say Windblast is 0.8 secs, it is Fast. That is obvious. I'm saying this cos every player in the game have different perception of which skills are fast and slow.
Also, I think you should explain about Alchemy weapons, since each Cylinder have their own unique effects (The Tower Cylinder in particular needs explaining).
Finally, you might have to realter this forum since G16 made a major change in a variety of the game's mechanics.
Keep up the good work ^^
